Call for Papers: East Asian Lit in Transnational Framework

East Asian literature in a transnational framework for AAS 2016 Seattle

My name is Susanna Lim (Univ. Oregon) I am looking for presenters, a discussant, and chair for a panel on East Asian literature in a transnational framework for the AAS 2016 conference in Seattle.

I’m a faculty of literature at the University of Oregon, and my focus will be a comparative reading of South Korean novelist Park Kyoung-ni’s Land (Toji) and Leo Tolstoy’s War and Peace. The second presenter, Roy Chan, also from Univ. Oregon, focuses on modern Chinese literature in relation to Russian literature (Ba Jin).

The panel willl focus on East Asian literature (China, Japan, Korea) in relation to the literatures of Russia and the West: influences, exchange, travel, and comparative readings.

If interested, please contact me at susannal@uoregon.edu.
